What We Do
PS2 is a publicly traded company TSX-V:WMT specializing in the treatment of contaminated soil and the recovery of oil from industrial sludge and paint waste using patented non-incineration thermal desorption technology.
The Thermal Phase Separation (TPS) technology is a patented non-incineration system engineered to safely extract hydrocarbon based contaminants from soil, sludge, paint and plastic debris
It is a component based system which is mobile, flexible and has the capability to treat up to 60,000 metric tonnes per year
It has been proven commercially on operations around the world since 1996
It produces no air emissions any different from an industrial boiler making it much easier for permitting and public acceptance for on-site operations
It produces as by-products only the extracted hydrocarbons which are safely contained for additional management, water which is treated and recycled during operations and a clean solid material which is approved for in-fill and landfill day cover
It is the proven, safe, economical and ecological alternative to incineration
More
PS2 operates one of only three facilities in Canada approved for the treatment of large volumes of soil contaminated with PCBs and is approved to receive soil contaminated with all chlorinated organics such as dioxins and furans, DDT and other pesticides.
Contaminants in soils typically represent less than 0.75% of the volume of the soil itself
These large volumes of soil are traditionally incinerated, often unnecessarily
Using its patented TPS technology PS2 can safely extract these chemicals for proper management without producing any of the harmful air emission commonly produced by their incineration
PS2 captures everything produced during the extraction process for containment, treatment, analysis and final disposal
The remaining soil is safe for use as fill or landfill cover
Soil is cleaned. Liability is eliminated. Disused and contaminated sites are returned to commercial or residential use.
More
Oil based sludge's from refining and petrochemical manufacturing often contain significant volumes of recoverable oil. Oil that is traditionally incinerated, land filled and wasted.
PS2’s patented thermal technology can safely and economically extract that oil for recycling and sale
The process produces none of the harmful air emissions common to incineration and creates a net positive reduction in overall greenhouse gas emissions
The only byproduct is inert sediment which is safe for landfill or blending for concrete manufacturing
Oil is recovered. Liability is eliminated. No damaging environmental impact.
More
70% of oil based paint is comprised of recoverable oil which is typically destroyed in incinerators around the world
PS2’s patented thermal technology can safely and economically extract that oil for recycling and sale
The process produces none of the harmful air emissions common to incineration and creates a net positive reduction in overall greenhouse gas emissions
The only by-product is inert solids consisting of the minerals that gave the paint its colour
Oil is recovered. Liability is eliminated. No damaging environmental impact.

It is one of the most secure PCB soil storage facilities in North America.
Our Facility is capable of treating up to 60,000 metric tonnes of waste material per year.
It is approved for storage of up to 33,000 metric tonnes of waste.
